SECONDARY GLAZING
Secondary glazing can be used where other types of double glazing may not be suitable or desirable. Secondary glazing can considerably reduce the amount of external noise to create a more comfortable living or working environment. Heat loss through existing windows will also be hugely reduced when secondary glazing is fitted.
Secondary glazing is particularly useful for listed buildings where local building regulations prevent the installation of u.P.V.C. or aluminium frames or indeed where the client prefers to retain the period architecture in their home.
Our secondary glazing has been specifically developed to suit almost any application and there are a comprehensive range of styles, including fixed and lift out panels, hinged panels and vertical and horizontal sliders.
Our secondary glazing panels are manufactured in aluminium and the standard colours are white or brown, although they are available in other colours to suit your colour scheme, if required.
Our secondary glazing has the following benefits:-
- Where it is not permitted to change the exterior of a property (such as listed buildings or properties in Port Sunlight Village) secondary glazing is a desirable alternative
- It is a quick and effective method to help reduce the heat loss in a property
- In areas of excessive noise such as near airports, train lines or busy roads, secondary glazing can be used alongside modern double glazing to further reduce the amount of noise heard
- It is a lower cost compared to a complete double glazing installation. Ideal when a budget is restricted but a high quality solution is still required
